Our Garden Designer
Abstract Landscapes was established by Julian Sandell in August 2009. Julian has worked exclusively in garden design and construction, following his return to the UK, after living and working in Sao Paulo, Brazil. With a background in music, art and design, including architectural and landscape restoration projects, he has successfully developed and transferred his skills, designing and building contemporary gardens and outside spaces for a growing client base.
After two and a half years as the landscape manager for one of London’s larger household services companies, Julian decided it was time to set up his own company and so Abstract Landscapes was born.
Julian is passionate about creating beautiful and functional outdoor spaces for clients to enjoy with family and friends and is actively involved with each project, from the initial consultation and design phase, through project management and construction to the final planting and landscape maintenance. He approaches each of his projects with a sound understanding of design and construction principles and a strong conviction for high quality workmanship.
Our clients appreciate his calm demeanour, thoughtful approach and honesty and long lasting relationships are formed. From inspiration to installation, Julian and his team will guide you through the process, creating a garden that reflects you, your home and your lifestyle.
